Before it was Cervantes' this Welton Street building was the legendary Casino Cabaret a 1930s jazz hub where Duke Ellington, B.B. King, and Ray Charles once performed. New owners renovated and relaunched it in 2010, and it's been one of Denver's premier independent venues ever since. What makes it unique: Two connected rooms the main Ballroom and The Other Side run live music simultaneously on one ticket. The Ballroom holds 1,000 with a standing dance floor and wraparound balcony, The Other Side fits 450 and has its own restaurant, Cosmic Snacks. Expect dubstep, electronica, hip-hop, jam bands, and bluegrass. Past acts include Pretty Lights, STS9, and Nas. Limited street parking. Arrive at doors to snag a balcony table (first-come, first-served). ADA requests should be submitted 48 hours ahead at cervantesmasterpiece.com.
