Gothic Theater
3263 S Broadway, Denver, US
Built in 1925 as a movie house, the Gothic nearly didn't survive. Two music fans bought it out of bankruptcy in 1998 and rebuilt it from the foundation up, preserving its stunning art deco interior. Nirvana also debuted "Smells Like Teen Spirit" on this stage in 1991. Just under 1,000 person capacity with a standing room floor and wraparound balcony featuring tables and chairs. All tickets are general admission. Genres: Rock, indie, metal, and hip-hop. Past acts include Slayer, Beastie Boys, Violent Femmes, and Gavin DeGraw. Parking: All street parking watch for residential permit zones. Pay lots are nearby, but rideshare is strongly recommended. The Englewood Light Rail Station is also within easy reach. Grab a balcony table early for the best sightlines. The acoustics are exceptional anywhere in the room.
