River Street Jazz Cafe
667 N River St, Wilkes-Barre, US
Tucked inside the Cross Valley Center, The River Street Jazz Café has been NEPA's go-to room for live music since 1993, over three decades now, which is a long run for an independent club this size. Despite the name, it's not strictly a jazz room; the booking leans rock, jam, tribute acts, and touring roots/bluegrass, with a history that includes Lionel Hampton, Leon Russell, Jefferson Starship, and Breaking Benjamin, and recent bills featuring Billy Strings, Goose, and Lotus. It's an intimate space with a reputation for one of the better sound and light setups in the region, and the kitchen runs bar food and burgers before and during shows. Doors are typically Friday and Saturday nights, 8pm to 2am, with hours shifting around specific showtimes. Bring a small bag nothing oversized and expect it to be searched at the door. There's ample on-site parking at the Cross Valley Center lot.
